There are seven elected Council members who are responsible for setting policies, adopting a budget, and adopting ordinances. Council hires a Professional Manager who is responsible for implementing their decisions and administering the day-to-day functions of the Village. The Village Manager is also responsible for the administration of personnel policies, financial management, and the preparation of an annual budget that is then submitted to the Council for approval.

MEETINGS

  • Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 7:30 pm
  • Planning Commission meets on the first Monday of the month at 7:30 pm
  • Board of Zoning Appeals meets on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm
  • Parks and Recreation Committee meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm
  • Downtown Development Authority (DDA) meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:15 pm

  • 24 Hour Staffed Police Department - 4 Full time, 14 Part time and 24 Reserve Officers
  • 24 Hour Public Works Department: Snow Removal, Major and Local Street Maintenance
  • Full Service weekly garbage and recycling pick-up. Seasonal composting pick-up
  • Full service bathing beach including life guards, restrooms and changing facilities,
    Memorial Day to Labor Day
  • Use of six municipal parks
  • Code enforcement: Zoning and Building, Nuisance complaints, Site plan compliance
  • Street lighting
