Speaking of market research

But wait! There’s more!

We also took pictures of some of our available buildings, and combined them with a bit of market research to create a Business Wish List, which we displayed at the 2017 OACC Shop Local Business Expo. We had a ton of very enthusiastic responses! People of all ages, senior citizens all the way down to school-age kids, told us what they thought of our ideas by adding a smiley face sticker to the ones they liked. They had some ideas of their own too, so we added those to the chart using post-it notes.

After the Expo we created a survey on our newsletter, which goes out to almost 3000 people, and the response was intense! Over 175 responses within two days!

Once we pulled all the data together, we created this graphic, showing the businesses people are most interested in seeing in downtown.
