New Year’s Resolution Run
January 1, 2015
Forget the good intentions; put your healthy New Year’s resolution into action by participating in the 15th annual Downtown Lake Orion “New Year’s Resolution Run.” Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1st, the race offers two options: a 5K for the serious runners, and a 1.5 mile fun run for the rest of us. The race routes circle throughout the historic downtown district.
More than 200 runners participated last year, and this year’s event could draw an even larger crowd. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in several age categories. The runner with the best overall time in the 5K will receive a $100 Downtown Lake Orion gift certificate from the Downtown Development Authority.
You can download your registration form by clicking the link below, or pick one up at Hanson’s Running Shop. Entry fees are $25 for pre-registered 5K runners and $20 for pre-registered 1-milers and kids under 12. (T-shirt guaranteed for all runners pre-registered by December 19th). Race Day registration is $30 for everyone, and begins at 9:00 a.m. at 51 North Brewing, corner of Broadway and Shadbolt Streets. Shirts will be provided while quantities last.
