Re-Cap of 2019 New Year’s Resolution Run in Downtown Lake Orion
Thanks to warmer weather, this year’s New Year’s Resolution Run brought in 250 runners to Downtown Lake Orion. They started from Lapeer St. just north of Flint and ran around the neighborhood to finish in front of Twice Blessed on South Broadway.
The top winner of the 5k was Ryan Mahalsky, who set a new race record, finishing in 14 minutes and 55 seconds! The top female winner of the 5k was Olivia Pratt, who ran it in 16 minutes and 54 seconds. (Thanks to Jim Newell of the Lake Orion Review for the photos).

The top male winner of the 1.5k was Norman Caetano, while the top female winner was Amy Silvester. All runners received a medal for participation, and the winners took home $100 in Downtown Gift Certificates.
Thanks again to Hanson’s Running Shop for hosting the race. Thanks to Saucony for sponsoring the medals and a big thanks to Lockhart’s BBQ for hosting the registration!
