From Community Frustration to Community Ownership

The “Illuminators” began with a simple question: how do we invite people to become part of the solution? Instead of answering negativity with more words, Downtown Lake Orion created a visible, welcoming way for neighbors to turn pride into action. What started as a small volunteer effort has grown into a recognizable community movement – nearly 90 residents, business owners, students, retirees, civic partners and families working together to make downtown stronger.
