Join us as we continue the tradition!
This year we are kicking off the Hometown Holiday season a little early, so that we can enjoy the magic a little longer. The Sing & Stroll Tree Lighting will take place on Thursday, November 12th from 5:30 pm – 8 pm, with the tree lighting taking place at 6 pm!
Jennie Knaggs of Orion Music Studio will lead us in sing-alongs right before we light up Downtown Lake Orion for the holiday season!
DJ James Jayson will be playing holiday tunes for all of downtown to hear while you shop and dine in Downtown. Free treat tables will be spread out for those in attendance to enjoy something special!
Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be present for distanced pictures while wearing a mask!
The tree lighting will be performed by DDA Board Chair, Debbie Burgess. Debbie Burgess is co-owner of Builders Custom Flooring and has been an active member of the Downtown Lake Orion Business Community for many years.
Stay for the festivities after the tree lighting! Dj James Jayson will continue to play holiday music for those shopping and dining throughout Downtown Lake Orion. Select stores will be open late to accommodate shoppers. Participating stores may have specials like hot chocolate, candy canes, or deals on store items.
November 12th is the Early Bird release of the annual Passport Contest! Stop by the DDA table during the Sing & Stroll Tree Lighting to pick yours up. If you do not collect a Passport on November 12th they will be available to the public and inside of Downtown businesses on November 28th ( Small Business Saturday).Make a minimum $25 purchase or down payment at a Downtown Lake Orion Business.
You can also play virtually! A PDF will be available for download on November 12th during the Sing & Stroll Tree Lighting and will be made available again on November 28th. Virtual participants may also email in pictures of their qualifying receipts to events@downtownlakeorion.org to play!
Rules are:
- Make a minimum $25 purchase or down payment at a Downtown Lake Orion Business.
- Ask for a duplicate receipt to be printed, keep it in your passport envelope.
- Have a store employee initial ONE square with business initials per qualifying purchase on your passport
- Online one initialed square and receipt per store per day will be counted toward your prize.
- Complete four passport squares to receive a prize. Bring your passport and receipts to the DDA office 118 N. Broadway to be verified and collect your prize(s). All Prizes are while supplies last.
- For online shopping, simply print out your Passport Card and qualifying receipts and bring to the DDA office or email receipts to events@downtownlakeorion.org
