Stronger Together Letterboxing
Introduce your family to a new fun treasure hunting hobby, Letterboxing. You will seek out hidden letterboxes by following clues to find your “reward” – a hand carved 4 part stamp (you do NOT take the stamp, only use it to stamp your logbook). Both Lake Orion & Oxford will have custom, handmade stamps, designed & carved by Councilman Teresa Rutt. Downtown shops have also decided to jump in on the fun, search their stores for even more stamps!
To start up your hobby you will need your own signature stamp (make it or buy it, we’re not picky! You could also just sign your name as well.), an ink pad, a logbook and a pen. You will stamp/sign the logbook in the letterbox and stamp ours in your logbook. Create your trail name on the letterboxing.org and/or atlasquest.com website and log your finds (or just have fun and find our boxes!).
You can find the clues there starting April 1st, we will also post them in the Facebook event and the DDA websites. First Finder will receive $10 Downtown Dollar and each week a $10 Downtown Dollar will be hidden in a random box on a random day! Travel and get both stamp sets in the same day easily with our trolley shuttle on Fridays 5:00pm-9:00pm and Saturdays 3:00pm-9:00pm. Don’t procrastinate, these are only available until April 30th!
